The FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor is Abbott’s continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) sensor. It is a small round sensor worn on the back of the upper arm that reads your glucose automatically through the day and night, so you can see where you are without pricking your finger every time.
What is in the pack
- One FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor, with its single-use applicator
- Abbott’s instructions for use
A reader or a compatible phone is needed to see the readings and is not included. We sell the Abbott FreeStyle Libre CGM Reader on its own, and together with sensors in the Starter Bundle.
How it works
The applicator places a soft filament, thinner than a needle, just under the skin. It measures glucose in the fluid between your cells and keeps doing so while you work, eat and sleep. You read the result on the reader or on the app.
Why people use it
- A number and a direction. Each check shows your glucose now plus an arrow for where it is heading, rising, steady or falling. A fingerstick only gives you the number.
- One sensor is worn for up to 15 days. Check the wear time printed on your pack.
- No routine fingerstick calibration. The sensor is calibrated at the factory.
- Optional high and low glucose alarms, which you can switch on so you are told when you go out of range, including overnight.
- The overnight picture. Readings continue while you sleep, which is the stretch almost nobody tests.
- Water resistant, so showering and normal daily activity are fine. Follow Abbott’s stated depth and time limits.
- Discreet. It sits under a sleeve and needs no handling once applied.
Worth knowing before you order
- This listing is the sensor only.
- Abbott’s instructions describe situations where you should still confirm with a fingerstick, for example when your symptoms do not match the reading.
- Readings come from fluid under the skin, so they can lag a fingerstick slightly when glucose is changing quickly.
- We deliver Libre sensors inside Lahore only. Outside Lahore, message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you what we can arrange.
Please note: a CGM sensor measures glucose. It does not treat or cure diabetes. Talk to your doctor or diabetes educator about how to act on the readings, and always follow the instructions supplied with the product.
