A nebuliser turns liquid medication into a mist fine enough to breathe deep into the airways. A mesh nebuliser does it with a vibrating plate full of microscopic holes, instead of a compressor pushing air through the medication.
Why that matters
No compressor means no noise and no bulk. A mesh unit runs on batteries or USB, fits in a bag, and is quiet enough to use beside a sleeping child — which is often the whole reason a family buys one rather than a traditional machine.
The catch is cleaning
Those holes are tiny. Medication residue blocks them, and a partially blocked mesh produces a weaker mist long before it stops working entirely — so the device seems fine while quietly delivering less than a full dose.
Rinse the medication cup and the mesh after every single use and let both air dry completely. This is not optional maintenance. It is the difference between a device that lasts for years and one that fails silently.
Important
A nebuliser is a delivery device only. Use only the medication and the dose your doctor has prescribed for you, and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
